|Your Name||Mattea Fleischner|
1. What do you see as your primary work at this stage of your life?
Foundation grants focused on economic opportunities for women in coffee, tea and cocoa communities, partnerships to scale child care solutions and new technology for circular water access in coffee communities
2. What role do you see as yours to play?
bringing creative opportunities to scale, giving a voice of farmers through my understanding of practical realities and dynamics at coffee/tea origin that are important to implement programs effectively with supplier partners, NGOs and some government entities, along with ensure sustainability long-term.
3. What goals or aims do you have in regard to the above?
I want to move toward effectively implementing / designing programs on the ground (at origin) and scaling slowly with the community. I believe many times programs are implemented reactively and my goal is to work towards designing reforestation type programs with the surrounding community to incentivize and ensure success of carbon market projects long-term, among other biodiversity, regenerative ag and circular water programs. I believe this will be the reason for the success of programs when we look back 10-50 years from now on certain sustainability initiatives.
4. Where do you feel your next arenas for personal growth are?
the intersection of reforestation, biodiversity planning, soil health/regenerative agriculture and circular water solutions at origin with new technology to verify and economically support people living in these communities through carbon markets for example. I am also very interested in exploring the literal hand to paper design elements that I have not had the opportunity to do in the past.
5. And for professional growth?
Designing, operationalizing plan and implementing (doing) with the community to learn / grow together.
6. What have you invested in to get you where you are?
This course, reading about carbon markets and learning more about business models focused on utilizing new drone and EV technology to accelerate "climate smart" solutions for reforestation, net zero carbon, etc initiatives
7. What fields of learning and which thinkers have been important in your life?
Design (HCD), Behavior Design, agribusiness, reforestation tech (Pachama, Regen Network), EV (Rivian), circular water (Tata Water Mission, Zero Mass Water),
8. Can you frame your philosophy or cosmology of life? What role(s) do humans play in it?
We are all connected, One. Not only our actions as humans but energetic intentions are felt not only by humans but the surrounding environment. By connecting with our true self and innate way of being, returning to zero, we have the ability to nurture our purpose, each other and the whole earth.
